HIGH-PRESSURE vs MEDIUM-PRESSURE vs LOW-PRESSURE

Although there are a variety of tanning beds on the market, there are really only 2 types of UV lamps used in all tanning beds...high-pressure lamps which are large and purple or low-pressure lamps which are long white tubes. These 2 types of UV lamps will determine whether the equipment is high, medium or low-pressure.

HIGH-PRESSURE

A true high-pressure unit will only have high-pressure lamps, which are always going to be large purple lamps, usually in the shape of squares, and will produce a purple colored light. True 100% high-pressure units are very difficult to find because of the extremely high cost associated with acquiring, installing, and operating them.
